arrival and life in the community:
HOW TO GET TO US:
If you are flying into Managua Airport, we are happy to have our driver pick you up at the airport for $80 USD. If you didn't already add this on at your time of booking, no worries, just go on back into your customer account and make that adjustment. Or if you need assistance send us a message!
CHECK IN / CHECK OUT:
Our standard check in time is 2:00pm and check out is 11:00am. What this means is if you are going to be arriving at any other time, you need to let us know. Because of various workshops, group activities and general operating-in-Nicaragua things, we aren’t able to have a reception that operates 24/7. In order to make sure you have the smoothest on-boarding experience possible, please make us aware of your approximate arrival time. As for check out, you must be out of your room by 11:00am on your final day. You’re welcome to remain in house until 7:00pm in order to finish any work you might have and enjoy one last sunset.
The house is basically a fortress. We have 24/7 security on site and a 30 foot wall topped with barbed wire you’d have to scale to get in. That being said, we also have lockers on site for anyone to use for a little extra safety, all they require is your own lock. In addition, you do require a key for entry and exit of the property and we do charge $20 for any losses.
We try to organize activities 3 - 5 times per week for the community at the house. The schedule is ever changing and based on the needs of the group in the house at the time. We watch movies, hold debates, go for runs, hold meditation classes, NomadTalks, and anything else you can think of. If there is an activity you would like to run let us know and we’re happy to accommodate! This is a community experience and it’s only as strong as we all make it!
We do have an in-house meal plan run by our local chefs and based on a menu created by Alabamian chefs we were lucky enough to host at the house. Cost is $5 for lunch and $6 per dinner and runs Monday-Friday with special events and meals thrown in along the way.
